I grew up in Louisiana drawing! I made cards. I created cartoons. I drew portraits. Anything I could draw, I drew... So when I went off to college at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, there was never a doubt that I would major in art. After two years, however, I became overly concerned with my prospects for a "real job" as an artist and reluctantly switched my studies to marketing. I graduated a few years later, married my college sweetheart (Troy, whom I had actually met in an art class!), moved to Arizona, became a mom to Jack, and built a successful career in marketing.
But I always dreamed of returning to the easel.
As my son grew older, I had more free time on my hands and could finally explore local art classes. I was still working full-time in marketing but being back with a pencil and brush in my hand felt like home! A few years later in 2021, I decided to paint a few champagne bottles as graduation gifts for friends and they were a huge hit! I had no idea how quickly it would take off! Soon I found myself painting bottles for incredible people all over the US. That exposure opened the door to work with other amazing clients who wanted to commission similar one-of-a-kind artwork on paper and canvas. An unintentional common theme of "favorite things" came to life, from simple things like flowers, teams, and shoes, all the way to special pets and epic moments. What an honor to help memorialize these memories for my clients!
Now, nearly 30 years later, I am back behind the easel with a brush in hand and I certainly feel blessed to be here.
Can't wait to meet you!
